The Cabildo will allow access to the trails in the northern municipalities from Saturday 16th August

The measure will come into effect at 7:00 hours tomorrow

The ban on open fires across the island continues, as well as the closure of recreational areas and camping zones

The Cabildo of Tenerife, taking into account the evolution of the weather conditions, will implement from 7:00 hours on Saturday 16th August forest fire prevention measures of level 2 in the municipalities on the northern side of the island of Tenerife, while in the municipalities on the southern side, level 3 measures will remain in place.

In the municipalities influenced by the trade wind, where temperatures are milder and relative humidity has remained elevated, the vegetation has regained the water content it had lost, reducing the risk of forest fires, hence level 2 measures will be applied. Conversely, in the south-facing municipalities, although temperatures have decreased, humidity remains very low, making it advisable to maintain level 3 prevention measures.

In the municipalities of Buenavista del Norte, Los Silos, El Tanque, Garachico, Icod de los Vinos, La Guancha, San Juan de la Rambla, Los Realejos, La Orotava, Santa Úrsula, La Victoria de Acentejo, La Matanza de Acentejo, El Sauzal, Tacoronte, San Cristóbal de la Laguna, Tegueste, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and El Rosario, level 2 measures are applied.
