The Council continues with the improvement works on the Southern motorway TF-1
Works will continue this Sunday (17th August) until Friday (22nd August) from 21:00 to 06:00 in the morning
The Tenerife Council, through the Highways Department, continues with the improvement and rehabilitation works on the surface of the Southern motorway (TF-1). The works will continue this Sunday (17th August) until Friday (22nd August) from 21:00 to 06:00 in the morning, at kilometre points 37 (El Porís) and 47 (Tajao). Similarly, the work will continue from 18th to 22nd August during the same hours between kilometre points 39 to 31.
On Sunday (17th August), the works will involve closing the Adeje-Santa Cruz lane, with a bypass allowing for reduced lanes, featuring one lane in each direction. From 18th to 22nd August, the right lane will be closed, and the inner lane will be used as an alternative for traffic.
The Council requests that road users exercise caution and always follow the instructions of the Highways personnel and the signage in the area where the improvement works are taking place.
The works on the TF-1 are essential as it is one of the main communication arteries of the island, handling a daily traffic volume exceeding 70,000 vehicles. In addition to resurfacing, the project includes other complementary actions such as the installation of rumble strips at the road edges, raising of guardrails and centre barriers, installation of headlight reflectors, complete repainting of road markings, installation of rigid concrete barriers, and placement of parapets on bridges. All these measures aim to enhance the safety and comfort of the thousands of drivers who use the motorway daily.
