A 47-year-old man has died and a 46-year-old woman has sustained serious injuries following a collision between two vehicles that occurred early on Sunday morning on the TF-1, near Adeje, as reported by 112 Canarias.
The incident was recorded at 03:25 hours, at kilometre point 75 of the motorway, heading towards Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The staff at the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) received multiple calls alerting that several people required urgent medical assistance following the impact.
The dispatched teams confirmed the death of the driver, a 47-year-old man, due to the severity of his injuries. The other occupant of the same vehicle, a 46-year-old woman, was freed from the interior by firefighters and treated by staff from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) for severe polytrauma. After stabilisation, she was transported in a medicalised ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria.
The response involved three Heavy Urban Pumping Appliances (BUP) from the Tenerife Fire Consortium, several ambulances from the SUC, Primary Care personnel, the Civil Guard, and the Roads Conservation Service of the Cabildo. The firefighters secured the vehicles involved and rescued the injured victim, while the Civil Guard safeguarded the deceased’s body until the judicial authority arrived and completed the relevant report.
The accident also necessitated the involvement of Road personnel to assist in clearing and restoring normal traffic conditions on the road.
