A 50-year-old cyclist has died after colliding with a vehicle on the Ctra. del Amparo, in the Tenerife municipality of Icod de los Vinos, reports 1-1-2 Canarias.

The incident occurred around 18:30, at which point the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Canary Government received an alert reporting that a cyclist required medical assistance following a collision with a car.

Upon arrival, SUC personnel assessed the injured individual, who was found to have serious injuries, and proceeded to transport them to the Northern Hospital.

However, during the journey, the individual went into cardiac arrest. Despite the advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers performed by the ambulance staff, the individual sadly passed away upon arrival at the hospital.

The local police regulated traffic on the road while the Civil Guard managed the necessary judicial proceedings.
