On the evening of Tuesday, 19th, Ramírez Cerdá Park resonated with music and tradition during an emotional concert organised by the Festivities Department of Arrecife City Council, led by Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio.

This event, part of the San Ginés Festivities 2025 programme, once again served as a cultural meeting point for locals and visitors alike.

Teguey Group Moves with “Voces de Ellas, Alma de Ellos”

The first part of the evening featured the Teguey Popular Music Group, who presented their show “Voces de Ellas, Alma de Ellos”. The voices of Almudena Hernández, Lucía Queiruga, and Lourdes Guadalupe shone during a journey through Canary Islands folklore, accompanied by the Altaja Cultural Association of Traditional Dances.
The repertoire included traditional pieces such as isa, folías, malagueña, and seguidillas, along with original compositions like Ico, Risco de Famara, Donde te conocí, Jardín de Leyenda, and Este es mi pueblo.

Bohemia Lanzarote Unveils Their Album “Huellas”

The second part of the concert was headlined by the Bohemia Lanzarote Music Group, who launched their latest album: “Huellas”. This album offers a contemporary perspective on Canary Islands folklore, preserving its traditional essence while adding an international projection.
“Huellas” features collaboration with renowned Venezuelan artist and Latin Grammy winner Luis Fernando Borjas, produced by multi-instrumentalist Dani Barón with mixing carried out in London and Mexico City. The group plans to promote the album in hopes of submitting it for the Latin Grammy 2026 in the category of Best Folklore Album.

A Celebration Reinforcing Arrecife’s Cultural Identity

The Festivities Councillor, Echedey Eugenio, highlighted the significance of the cultural event:
“The San Ginés Festivities provide a space for reconnection and celebration of our identity. Last night showcased the extraordinary talent of two great groups.”
