The President of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, highlights “the consolidation of an event that also stands out for its educational and professional aspect”

TLP Tenerife 2025 generated an economic impact of €1.8 million during its celebration, which took place at the Tenerife International Fairgrounds from 15th to 20th July. The technology and entertainment event, sponsored by the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife through the Tenerife Scientific and Technological Park (PCTT), attracted over 70,000 visitors and achieved 75.2 million online impacts, setting a new record.

Rosa Dávila emphasised the consolidation “of an event that also highlights its educational and professional component. Thanks to the inaugural edition of the TLP Indie Awards, we had 38 national and international studios participating in various networking sessions alongside staff from the Tenerife Scientific and Technological Park.”

The internal economy of the event generated nearly €1 million over the six days, alongside positive effects on approximately 200 businesses, predominantly micro-enterprises and SMEs in the area. “These are positive figures that illustrate the event’s impact on Tenerife and Santa Cruz, in particular.”

TLP Tenerife 2025 hosted over 200 activities attended by thousands of fans of video games, anime, comic books, K-Pop, cosplay, crafts, influencers, and Japanese culture, along with LAN parties. Furthermore, seminars, talks, and meetings were held for industry professionals, addressing future challenges.

Juan José Martínez, the councillor for Innovation, Research, and Development, highlighted the attendance of 70,000 people, positioning TLP Tenerife as the second-largest event nationally regarding visitor numbers: “Returning to the original dates in mid-July was crucial, as long-time attendees were accustomed to it. Additionally, our efforts this year in designing the stages, the layout of different areas, and involving top-level professionals contributed to the overall quality of the event.”

Employment Opportunities and Youth Involvement

TLP Tenerife 2025 facilitated the direct hiring of 143 young people, along with an additional 448 indirect jobs. The average age of the staff was 25, with a nearly even gender distribution, comprising 51% men and 49% women. Furthermore, 10% of the workforce included individuals with functional diversity, who joined the project through the DiSAFÍO programme of the Fundación del Club Deportivo Tenerife.

Idaira Febles, director of TLP Tenerife, explained that “this is more than just a video game event: it represents the first job opportunity for many young people from the island and often their initial contact with their future profession.” Febles expressed excitement for the upcoming edition, scheduled for 14th to 19th July 2026: “We will celebrate the twentieth anniversary, which is a challenge but also a motivation to work harder. We have many ideas already in development to ensure TLP Tenerife is a great success.”
