The UD Lanzarote held the unveiling of its squad for the 2025/2026 season this Wednesday against a historic backdrop: the old market, La Recova, in the capital.
The club president, Juan Carlos Albuixech, opened the event by expressing gratitude for the support of the new Board of Directors, as well as the institutional backing from the Arrecife City Council and the Cabildo of Lanzarote. Present at the event were notable figures such as the mayor, Yonathan de León, and the Councillor for Tourism and Sport, Eli Merino, who wished success to the team as they embark on a campaign that promises to be competitive in Group XII of the Third Federation.
The supporters were given the opportunity to meet the 23 players who will wear the team’s colours this season. Each footballer was introduced to the fans in an event that also featured a heartfelt video showcasing the career of the new coach, Ángel López.
In his first official address, the manager called for unity within the squad to face the demanding season ahead. Team captain Alejandro Martín assured fans of their commitment and dedication, stating, “We will work to the maximum to bring joy to our supporters.”
UD Lanzarote will kick off the competition on 7 September, returning to the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote following the renewal of the pitch, aiming to remain one of the leading teams in the category.
