More than 50 personnel, controls at the dock, traffic restrictions, and a medical post will ensure safety during the celebrations

The Teguise Town Council held the Security Council for the 2025 La Caleta de Famara Festivities on Thursday, 21 August, chaired by Mayor Olivia Duque. Representatives from various departments including Security and Emergencies, Festivities, Roads and Works, Local Police, Civil Guard, National Police, Canary Police, Traffic Civil Guard, Fire Brigade, Civil Protection, private security, Cleaning, and Classified Activities were present.

The meeting aimed to coordinate the security and emergency arrangements for one of Lanzarote’s largest events, which gathers thousands of people each year and marks the end of summer on the island.

“Our priority is to ensure that the La Caleta Festivities proceed with the utmost safety and tranquillity possible. To achieve this, we have activated a joint operation that strengthens all emergency and access control services,” highlighted Mayor Olivia Duque, who expressed her gratitude for the cooperation of all involved departments.

Local Police Councillor, Ginés González, detailed that the operational plan includes an increase in personnel over the weekend, support from the Canary Police, the establishment of a medical post, and a security filtering system at the dock and the access road to Caleta de Famara, along with specific measures in the parking area.

Furthermore, Security and Emergencies Councillor, Eugenio Robayna, reported that more than 50 personnel will be deployed in the village, with special attention to access controls at the dock, which is the area of highest concentration during the festivities, as well as at points of vehicle entry and exit.

The 2025 La Caleta de Famara Festivities will offer a wide range of popular, religious, sporting, and cultural programmes, establishing itself as a festive and social focal point in Lanzarote.
