July Sees Highest Daily Hotel Rates in Lanzarote
In July, the average daily rate in Lanzarote hotels reached €147.8, the highest in the Canary Islands, following a 5.6% increase compared to last year, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) in its latest hotel occupancy survey.
Hotel Rates Across the Canary Islands
Second place went to hotels in Gran Canaria, achieving a nightly rate of €143, which is an 11% rise from twelve months ago.
In third place were the hotels in Tenerife, where the average room rate fell by 1.1% compared to last year, standing at €140.
Hotels in La Gomera experienced a remarkable rate increase, up 24.7% from the previous year, now averaging €114.4.
Conversely, in La Palma, the average rate declined by 7.4%, settling at €88 per room per night.
Average Length of Stay
Regarding the average length of stay, tourists in Lanzarote hotels stayed for an average of 7.16 days, slightly down from 7.46 days in July of the previous year.
However, stays in Lanzarote were only surpassed by Fuerteventura, where the average was 7.52 days, also a decrease from last year.
In Gran Canaria and Tenerife, the average stays were 6.48 days and 6.12 days respectively, quite similar to last year’s figures.
Tourists in La Palma hotels stayed for an average of 4.75 days, almost identical to the previous year.
Finally, La Gomera hotels not only saw the largest increase in rates but also recorded the greatest growth in the duration of stays, rising from 3.29 days in July 2024 to a full 4 days last month.
