Man Injured After Ventilation Duct Falls in Arona

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –

A 29-year-old foreign national has been injured today after a part of a ventilation duct fell onto the street in Arona, Tenerife, on La Paloma Street, according to information from the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

Incident Details

The incident occurred at approximately 14:52 hours when the 1-1-2 operations room received an alert indicating that a section of the duct from a restaurant had fallen into the public space, striking a pedestrian who was injured as a result. The Cecoes promptly activated the necessary emergency resources to respond to the scene.

Medical Assistance

Upon arrival, medical personnel from the Canary Emergency Service assessed and assisted the affected individual, who presented with a severe head injury at the initial moment of care. The injured party required transportation to the Hospiten Sur University Hospital.

Safety Measures

Firefighters proceeded to secure the area and implement the relevant safety measures, while the Local Police initiated an investigation.
