The Vice President of the Cabildo and Councillor for Tourism, Lope Afonso, visited the recently refurbished tourist information office at the Northern Airport this morning (Friday 22), which is part of the Tenerife Tourist Office Network, INFOTEN.
During the visit, Afonso, accompanied by the CEO of Tenerife Tourism, Dimple Melwani, emphasised “the importance of the island’s network of tourist offices, which serve as a unique showcase for Tenerife for our visitors, providing them with all the relevant information during their stay on our island.”
Impact on Tenerife’s Prestige
The Vice President insisted on “the significant role these offices play in building Tenerife’s reputation as a tourist destination. They directly contribute to creating a positive impact on the experiences of those who choose our island for their holidays, ensuring that Tenerife is an unforgettable experience for them.”
Investment in Renovation
The renovation of this office, along with its equipment, required an investment of over €83,000.
Technological Enhancements
The CEO of Tenerife Tourism, Dimple Melwani, elaborated on the details of the project, which focused on adapting the facilities to the design, corporate, and architectural criteria of the INFOTEN Network. She highlighted that “we have also focused on equipping the new offices with state-of-the-art technological infrastructure.”
Melwani indicated that “our objective is to have an open resource that is integrated and accessible to both staff and users, to provide the best possible service.”
Future Coordination
To this end, she announced that “we will soon hold a meeting with all the workers of the INFOTEN Network to update them on the latest developments in the destination and establish a coordinated work roadmap for 2026.”
