International Archaeology Day Celebrated at MUNA with Guided Interpretative Tour

On Monday, 18 August, the Museum of Nature and Archaeology of Tenerife (MUNA) hosted an interpretative guided tour led by curator María Candelaria Rosario Adrián.

This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Office of Environmental Participation and Volunteering of the Department of Natural Environment, Sustainability, Security and Emergencies of the Cabildo of Tenerife, in celebration of International Archaeology Day.

The primary aim of the activity was to engage the general public with archaeology, promoting awareness and appreciation for the island’s historical and cultural heritage. During the tour, participants had the opportunity to explore the Archaeological Museum’s galleries and learn in detail about its collections, as well as the efforts behind their conservation and exhibition.

The goal was to highlight the crucial role of archaeology as a means of connecting us to our history and roots. This engaging and attractive activity aimed to help citizens discover and value the archaeological legacy of our island, fostering a participative and accessible culture where museums serve as spaces for encounter, reflection, and learning for everyone.
