Two individuals have lost their lives and two others sustained injuries this Sunday after a vehicle veered off the road and collided with a wall of a house on the GM-1, near Arure, in the municipality of Valle Gran Rey (La Gomera), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred at approximately 18:53 when the 1-1-2 operations room received an alert regarding a vehicle having left the roadway, striking two pedestrians in the area. In response, Cecoes promptly deployed necessary emergency resources to the location.

Emergency Response

Medical responders confirmed the fatalities of the two pedestrians who were outside the house, as they had sustained injuries incompatible with life.

The occupants of the vehicle were also attended to; one of them, a woman, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Tenerife via the medical helicopter from SUC. The driver of the vehicle sustained a moderate hip injury and was transported by ambulance to the Hospital Ntra. Sra. de Guadalupe.

Additionally, the SUC team, along with Primary Care, assessed and assisted several witnesses of the accident who were experiencing anxiety attacks.

Investigation

The Guardia Civil is handling the necessary proceedings related to the incident.
