Resignation of Lanzarote Councillor for Taxi Sector Focus

Andrés Stinga, who previously served as a councillor in the San Bartolomé Town Hall and has been a PSOE councillor at the Lanzarote Cabildo since 2015, has submitted his resignation from the party. This decision comes as he aims to fully dedicate himself to the taxi sector in San Bartolomé.

Loli Corujo, the general secretary of the PSOE in Lanzarote, expressed gratitude for Stinga’s contributions, stating that “he has been, for me, one of those indispensable people. He has been my right hand and a partner in battles.”

Corujo further emphasised that “Andrés represents the best of politics: vocation, commitment, and humility. This is a recognition from all of the PSOE in Lanzarote.”

Potential Successors

The next candidate on the PSOE list to fill his position would be Hugo Delgado, an employee of the Lanzarote Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism, and a former councillor for Waste Management at the Cabildo. However, there are uncertainties regarding his ability to balance his role at the CACT with that of councillor at the Cabildo.

If Delgado is unable to accept the position, the next in line would be Paula Corujo, who previously served as the councillor for Youth and Education at the Cabildo during the last legislature.
