Love Me With All Your Heart (Cuando Calienta El Sol) by Engelbert Humperdinck

“Cuando Calienta El Sol” is a popular Spanish song originally composed as “Cuando Calienta El Sol en Masachapa.” The music was written by Rafael Gastón Pérez, a Nicaraguan composer and bandleader. The SADAIC (Argentine Society of Authors and Composers) also credits the Argentine composer Carlos Alberto Martinoli.

The song was released in 1961 and became famous through the Cuban-Mexican vocal group Los Hermanos Rigual, with lyrics by Carlos Rigual and Mario Rigual. It enjoyed significant success in many European countries, reaching number one in Italy for four consecutive weeks.

Numerous artists have performed the song, with notable recordings by Luis Alberto del Paraná, Javier Solís, Alberto Vázquez, Connie Francis, Antonio Prieto, Los Marcellos Ferial, Pablo Montero, and Raffaella Carrà. The Hungarian singer Inés Taddio covered the song in her 1963 album “Club Együttes.” Mexican artist Luis Miguel included it in his 1987 album “Soy como quiero ser,” produced by Juan Carlos Calderón. Released as the third single from the album, it reached number 50 on the Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States. The music video for Luis Miguel’s version was directed by Pedro Torres and filmed in Acapulco.

The entry Aquellas canciones del verano de los años 60: los veranos ye-yé (XXXVII) was first published on La Laguna Ahora.
