Meeting in Tenerife to Discuss Labour Reforms in the Tourism Sector

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 26 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Discussion on Key Labour Issues

The President of the Canary Islands Government, Fernando Clavijo, will meet on Wednesday in Tenerife with UGT General Secretary, Pepe Álvarez. The agenda will focus on reducing the working day, increasing wages, and improving working conditions in the tourism subsector.

Meeting Details

The meeting will commence at 10.00 AM at the Government Presidency headquarters in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Also in attendance will be the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Security, Lady Barreto, and the General Secretary of the union in the islands, Manuel Navarro.

Post-Meeting Engagement

Following the discussion with the President, Álvarez, who has recently praised Clavijo’s progressive stance and his approach to migrant issues, will visit a minors’ centre on the island alongside the Minister of Social Welfare, Candelaria Delgado.
