The Tenerife Cabildo has organised four public activities aimed at promoting the protection and preservation of the territory, coordinated by the Office for Environmental Participation and Volunteering. These initiatives will take place this week in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Puerto de la Cruz, Adeje, and Santiago del Teide.

The Natural Environment councillor emphasises that “the aim is to organise activities that benefit environmental protection, as participants not only help to safeguard it but also serve as a cornerstone for raising awareness about the natural environment and the need to preserve and care for it in the best possible way.”

Upcoming Activities

The agenda begins tomorrow, Wednesday 27, with a new session of the ‘Eco-Healthy Walks’ project, offering an informative and educational tour through various locations in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This activity is organised by the Montañeros de Nivaria Club in collaboration with the Santa Cruz+Sustainable Foundation.

On Saturday 30 August, Adeje will host a beach cleaning campaign, led by the Canary Green Association as part of the Shared Social Responsibility initiative of the Mynd Hotel, with support from the local council.

During the same weekend, Puerto de la Cruz will be the venue for a submarine waste collection event open to divers, organised by the Phe Team and the Terramare Association, as part of the Phe Sustainable Festival, supported by the council and Cruz Roja Española.

Final Events of the Weekend

On Sunday 31, two distinct activities will take place. The first, organised by the Montañeros de Nivaria Club and the Tenerife Insular Mountaineering Federation, is part of the ‘Custody of Mount Las Mesas’ project and invites the public to participate in an environmental walk and waste collection at the Santa Cruz lookout, in collaboration with the Santa Cruz+Sustainable Foundation.

Additionally, Santiago del Teide will be the site of a ‘Coast Awareness Campaign’, which includes an environmental workshop and cleanup activities at Playa de la Arena and its surroundings. This initiative is promoted by Landmar Costa Los Gigantes and Arena Hotels along with the Terramare Association, and has the backing of the local council and the Teno Rural Park.
