The Town Hall of La Laguna will launch a new edition of the Commerce Vouchers campaign on 2nd September, aimed at encouraging shopping at local establishments.

This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (FAUCA) and La Laguna Shopping Zone (LLZC).

A total of 326 businesses, including shops, hospitality establishments, and service providers have joined the initiative this year.

The vouchers will be available from 12:00 pm on Tuesday, 2nd September and can be used until 30th September or until stocks run out.

Commerce Voucher Requirements

Each voucher costs £10 and allows users to spend £20 at participating establishments, providing a direct subsidy of 50%.

Individuals can purchase a maximum of five vouchers, equating to £100 of spending for only £50.

Each establishment can redeem up to 350 vouchers.

The Commerce Vouchers can only be purchased through the website www.bonocomerciolalaguna.com.

Supporting Local Businesses

The Councillor for Commerce, Estefanía Díaz, emphasised that “this campaign is an effective tool for supporting small businesses. We want every purchase to also be a gesture of support for local establishments, as behind each are jobs, effort, and life for our towns and neighbourhoods.”

The councillor added that this initiative is part of the municipal economic reactivation strategy and reminded that, in addition to the Commerce Vouchers, her department is working on other lines of support for this sector, which is a major contributor to employment in La Laguna.

Abbas Moujir, president of FAUCA, noted that “the Commerce Vouchers are a measure that has already proven effective in previous editions. They allow for direct liquidity injection into local businesses, foster customer loyalty, and raise awareness among citizens about the importance of keeping our local commerce alive.”

Moujir underlined that the campaign arrives at a crucial time as schools reopen and encouraged citizens to take advantage of this opportunity.

This edition is expected to inject one million euros into the commercial fabric of the municipality, reaffirming the Town Hall’s commitment to establishing La Laguna as a vibrant, sustainable area that supports its business community.
