“Lanzarote Craft Fair Workshops 2025: Traditional Workshops and Activities”
The 36th Lanzarote Craft Fair will take place in Mancha Blanca (Tinajo) from 10th to 15th September, featuring activities that highlight the tradition, creativity, and artisanal techniques of the island.
The workshop programme includes activities for all ages and allows attendees to discover, learn, and experience the craft culture of Lanzarote.
Registration: From 5th September at 8:00 AM. Entry is free until reaching capacity for some activities.



Workshop on Soleras: Tradition and Craft Technique
- Date: 10th September | Time: 18:00 – 20:00
- Instructor: Víctor Socas
- Duration: 2 hours | Audience: Ages 16 and over
- Description: Participants will learn the process of making soleras and traditional techniques that make them unique, with the opportunity to experience artisan procedures.
- No prior knowledge required.

Discover Tradition Workshop: Cut and Paint
- Date: 10th September | 18:00 – 19:00
- Led by: Senderismo Lanzarote
- Description: A family workshop to explore Lanzarote’s culture through cut-outs and colourables inspired by traditional clothing.
- Audience: Ages 4 and over.
- Free entry until capacity is reached.
Family Tanning and Shoemaking Workshop
- Date: 11th September | 17:00 – 19:00
- Instructor: Víctor Socas
- Description: Participants will discover the art of traditional tanning and shoemaking, exploring goats, colours, soleras, mahos, bags, and doodles. Activity adapted for children and adults.
- Audience: Ages 5 and over.

Introduction to Traditional Thread Button Making Workshop
- Date: 11th September | 11:30 – 13:30
- Instructors: Dulce Arrocha and Nieves Rodríguez
- Duration: 1 hour | Audience: Ages 16 and over
- Description: Learn the traditional technique of thread buttons, with various models and guided practice.
- Materials included.
- Two sessions: 11:30 – 12:30 and 12:30 – 13:30.

- Duration: 2 hours | Audience: Ages 16 and over
- Description: A polychrome ceramic workshop combining history, tradition, and artistic practice. Participants will create pieces inspired by nature.
Rag Doll Workshop

- Description: Learn to make rag dolls, awakening imagination and rescuing family artisan traditions.
Hand-Moulded Paper Mâché Workshop

- Description: A practical workshop to create paper mâché pieces using simple materials and artisan techniques.
Cochineal Dyeing Workshop

- Description: Learn to extract natural pigment from cochineal and apply it to natural fibres.

Botanical Printing on Fabric Workshop

- Description: Ecoprint technique using leaves, flowers, and stems for stamping on fabrics, discovering nature and artisan creativity.
Introduction to Pírgan Basketry Workshop
- Date: 15th September | 17:00 – 20:00
- Instructor: Ruymán de León
- Duration: 3 hours | Audience: Ages 16 and over
- Description: Introduction to pírgan braiding, learning about its origins, preparation, and basic techniques.
All workshops include materials and most require pre-registration starting from 5th September at 8:00 AM. Some activities are free until capacity is reached.
