The FSOC union wishes to publicly clarify a number of issues that have arisen in recent days.

Background and Context

Firstly, we would like to remind everyone that since the union elections were held a year ago, and following the joint decision of UGT, Comisiones Obreras, and Intersindical Canaria to exclude us from all committees—despite being the most voted union and enjoying the majority trust of our colleagues—we are no longer associated with any decisions made jointly with the company regarding productivity bonuses, salaries, hiring through temporary employment agencies, job positions, or direct contracts that, in our opinion, may contravene the collective agreement.

Salary Increase Concerns

Secondly, we would like to express our concern over recent media reports regarding a potential salary increase for the Councillor for the Centres of Art, Culture, and Tourism of approximately 25,000 euros, as well as pay raises for several directors.

The FSOC would like to make it clear that we do not assert the accuracy of this information. Therefore, we request the company and the committee to publicly clarify the following points:

  • Whether these salary increases have occurred.
  • If they have taken place, under what criteria were they approved, and why has similar treatment not been extended to all employees, given that such measures are not specified in the collective agreement.
  • Furthermore, if such salary increases did exist, we believe they should have been approved in a Board of Directors meeting. If this is the case, considering that this would represent a salary increase in 2024, it is surprising that the members of this Board have not previously commented on the matter with the 2025 budgets already approved.

Call for Transparency

We understand that such issues generate uncertainty and discomfort among staff, which is why we believe it is essential to provide transparency and clear information.

Yours sincerely,
FSOC Union – Lanzarote
