Today, I have formally submitted my resignation as a councillor for the Cabildo of Lanzarote, a decision I have made for strictly personal reasons.
After more than two decades of commitment to public life, I feel it is time to embark on a new personal and professional chapter. However, my dedication to service, which inspired me to begin this journey in 1999, will always remain with me.
Expressions of Gratitude
I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to all the public workers I have had the fortune to work alongside over these years, both at the Town Hall of San Bartolomé and within the Cabildo of Lanzarote itself. I have received not only excellent treatment from everyone but also found willingness, professionalism, and collaboration, as well as established friendships that I will cherish forever. I have never had a single complaint; on the contrary, I can only offer words of recognition and gratitude.
I also wish to thank the residents of Lanzarote for the opportunity they have given me to serve the general interests of this island that I hold dear.
My gratitude extends to my party colleagues and also to those who have been my political opponents, with whom I have always maintained a cordial, smooth, and respectful relationship, as I have always envisaged politics.
Acknowledgements
I cannot forget the media, who have accompanied my daily work over the years and to whom I am grateful for their treatment and respect.
Finally, I must express my appreciation to my family for their understanding and support throughout these years, which have not always been easy; without their unconditional backing, my political activity would not have been possible.
This marks the conclusion of an important chapter in my life, which I have faced with dedication and enthusiasm. At this moment, I am starting a new phase, and although the future is uncertain, I will always be ready, wherever I am, with the same willingness and commitment to serve my island.
