On 19th August, the Civil Guard at the Main Post of Corralejo detained a couple—a man and a woman—on suspicion of committing a burglary at a business in the municipality of La Oliva (Fuerteventura). The value of the stolen items amounted to €6,845.33.

The incident was reported by the legal representative of the establishment.

Details of the Burglary

According to the investigation, the burglary took place at the end of June, when the alleged perpetrators followed the same modus operandi as in previous incidents.

Their method involved breaking the access doors with blunt instruments, such as a maul, to gain entry to the shop. Once inside, within minutes, they stole bottles of alcohol and tobacco, fleeing swiftly with the loot.

Investigation and Arrest

The investigators conducted a thorough review of the surveillance footage, which helped link the suspects to prior incidents in Corralejo. Upon establishing a connection between the repeat offenders and the recent burglary, they were arrested on 19th August.

It is noteworthy that the detainees had already been arrested previously in June and July, accumulating up to eight property crimes.

Impact of the Investigation

The investigation carried out by the Civil Guard during 2025 has led to the clarification of a total of nine burglaries committed in La Oliva, resulting in an economic detriment of nearly €30,000.
