Arona Municipality Opens Enrolment for 2025/2026 Cultural and Educational Activities

The Arona Town Hall, through the Cultural Board, has opened the registration period for a programme of courses, workshops, and activities that will take place during the 2025/2026 academic year at various cultural and civic centres across the municipality. This offering, aimed at residents of all ages, is characterised by its diversity and its support for artistic, cultural, and educational development, with the goal of making cultural learning and practice accessible to all citizens.

The Municipal School of Music and Dance in Arona has also begun registration for students aged 12 and over in various instrumental and vocal disciplines. At the Cultural Centre of Los Cristianos, classes will be offered in drums, electric guitar, bass guitar, and singing, while the Cultural Centre of Cabo Blanco will provide training in guitar and bass guitar. These workshops allow students to gain practical and progressive training in musical interpretation, fostering creativity, teamwork, and an exploration of different styles and genres. The registration period begins on 3 September.

Modern Dance Programme

The modern dance programme will run from September 2025 to June 2026 in several cultural spaces within the municipality, with groups tailored to different age ranges. At the Cultural Centre of Parque de la Reina, the Queens of Dance sessions for children aged 6 to 9 will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 16:30 to 17:30; Laisy Pop for students aged 9 to 13 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 17:30 to 18:30; and Pop Star for those aged 11 to 15 on Mondays from 18:30 to 20:30.

Workshops at Community Centres

At the Civic Centre Eduardo Oramas Alayón in El Fraile, the Talismán workshops for ages 8 to 13 will be offered on Tuesdays from 16:00 to 18:00; Yulialky aimed at youths and adults aged 13 to 47 on Tuesdays from 18:00 to 20:00; Baby Dance for ages 8 to 11 on Fridays from 16:00 to 18:00; and Yaupsy for young adults aged 14 to 30 on Fridays from 18:00 to 20:00.

In the Guargacho Sociocultural Centre, classes for students aged 9 to 13 will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 19:00 to 20:00, while the Civic Centre of Las Galletas will host the Ballet Disney workshop for children aged 5 to 7 on Thursdays from 16:00 to 18:00.

Commitment to Traditional Music

The Municipal School of Folklore in Arona continues its commitment to preserving and promoting traditional Canarian music through a comprehensive programme that will take place across various cultural and civic centres within the municipality. The educational offering encompasses different levels, from beginner to advanced, aimed at both children and adults, with a particular focus on Canarian singing and the instrumental interpretation of traditional island string instruments. Each centre organises groups based on age and skill level.

Fashion and Sewing Workshops

The programme is further complemented by workshops in cutting and sewing, traditional costumes, and patchwork, led by instructor Luisa. From September 2025 to June 2026, the Cultural Centre of Valle San Lorenzo will offer a cutting and sewing course on Mondays from 17:00 to 21:00; a Traditional Costumes course on Tuesdays from 17:00 to 21:00; and a Patchwork course on Thursdays from 17:00 to 21:00. Additionally, the Arona Senior Centre will host a Patchwork course on Wednesdays from 17:00 to 21:00, and a traditional costume making course on Fridays from 17:00 to 21:00.

Language Courses

The programme also includes a variety of language courses that will take place at the Cultural Centre of Los Cristianos from September to December. In the adult Spanish section, various levels are available, with level 0 classes on Wednesdays and Fridays from 13:00 to 14:30, A1 level on Mondays and Wednesdays from 19:00 to 20:30, A1+ level on Mondays and Wednesdays from 15:30 to 17:00, A2 level on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00, and A2+ level on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 to 13:00. Each of these courses will cost 120 euros.

For foreign languages, an A1 German course for adults will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 19:00 to 20:30, costing 60 euros, along with a free introductory German course for children aged 7 to 9 years, on Thursdays from 15:30 to 17:00. Regarding English, the programme includes A1 level courses for adults on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:30 to 19:00 and A2 level courses on Mondays and Wednesdays at the same times, both priced at 60 euros. Additionally, a free introductory English course for children aged 7 to 9 will be offered on Tuesdays from 15:30 to 17:00.
