The Lanzarote Council, through its Trade Department, has launched the fourth edition of the campaign “Consume Lanzarote Vouchers”. This initiative has become essential for boosting the local economy through consumption in local establishments, in collaboration with Felapyme (Inter-island Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises of Lanzarote).
Institutional Support and Benefits for Families
The president of the Council, Oswaldo Betancort, emphasised that Consume Lanzarote is a strong commitment from the governing group, which increases its investment year on year to enhance the campaign’s impact. Betancort highlighted that the initiative not only financially supports local businesses but also helps families cope with inflation. Furthermore, he noted that the chosen dates are strategic, coinciding with the start of the school year and the Christmas shopping season.
The Trade Councillor, Armando Santana, stated that the campaign directs public resources straight to local commerce, generating a positive impact on employment and the local economy. This year, the island’s contribution has increased by €100,000, reaching a total of €500,000, of which €387,000 is allocated to subsidising the vouchers. Each voucher has a value of €60, with the consumer paying €30 and the Council subsidising the remaining €30.
More Vouchers and Greater Reach
The 2025 campaign will offer 12,900 vouchers, which is 3,400 more than the previous year, and aims to surpass 300 participating businesses across the island. Each user can purchase a maximum of 6 vouchers, equating to a personal investment of €180 and yielding €360 to spend in participating businesses. The maximum number of redeemable vouchers per business will be €6,000, ensuring an equitable distribution.
Key Dates for the Campaign
- Registration of businesses: from 1 September to 31 October 2025
- Sale and redemption of vouchers: from 19 September to 15 November 2025
Procedures should be carried out through the official platform: www.consumelanzarote.org
Collaboration with Felapyme
The Council expresses gratitude for the collaboration with Felapyme, whose involvement is essential in the management, coordination, and development of the campaign, establishing “Consume Lanzarote Vouchers” as a catalyst for revitalising local trade and supporting family economies.
