On Saturday afternoon, around 16:20, a woman was injured in an accident involving a rubber dinghy at the slipway of the Caleta de Sebo in La Graciosa. A local resident reported the incident directly at the door of the Lanzarote Consortium for Security and Emergency Services, stating that a person was trapped under a boat.
Upon arrival, the emergency teams found the woman lying face down next to the dinghy, although she was not trapped beneath it. A nurse who was in the area had begun an initial assessment of her injuries and requested dressing materials, specifically gauzes, which were provided by the responding teams.
After initially stabilising the woman, a doctor present in the vicinity approached the scene and conducted a secondary assessment, which helped determine the subsequent steps for her extraction and emergency transfer.
Extraction Operation at the Slipway
The rescue operation took place next to the ramp of the community centre slipway. Emergency teams prepared the extraction maneuver with the assistance of medical personnel. Once stabilised, the woman was secured onto a spinal board and transferred to the ambulance stretcher.
Ultimately, she was evacuated to the Caleta de Sebo dock. There, emergency personnel assisted in transferring the stretcher from the ambulance to the regular ferry that connects La Graciosa with Lanzarote, ensuring she received hospital treatment as quickly as possible.
