It is one of the most demanding obstacle racing competitions in the Canary Islands. The event, part of the Remedios patronal festivities, turns the southern town into a venue for endurance, skill, and achievement.

The race will begin at 9:30 AM at the Plaza de la Alameda, the heart of local festivities, and will conclude around 1:30 PM. Throughout the day, athletes and spectators will share a vibrant sporting and festive atmosphere, with a course that this year features new obstacles over distances of 3, 5, and 10 kilometres.

The Bestial Race Xtreme Yaiza has not only become a sporting reference in Lanzarote but also across the entire Archipelago. The official presentation of the event, held at the Casa de la Cultura in Yaiza, was attended by the town’s mayor, Óscar Noda; the sports councillor, Ángel Lago; the insular sports councillor, Juan Monzón; and the organiser and CEO of Bestial Events, Alfredo López.

The mayor highlighted that Yaiza’s inclusion in the Bestial circuit reaffirms the municipality’s position as a “top-tier sports and tourist destination,” emphasising the economic impact the event generates for local services.

Angel Lago noted that the competition originated from a community and municipal initiative before becoming part of the Bestial Race network, encouraging the public to enjoy the “great sporting celebration.”

The councillor, Juan Monzón, pointed out the need to coordinate the insular sporting calendar to avoid date clashes between events, given the growing array of disciplines available.

Organizer Alfredo López stated that the Bestial Race Xtreme Yaiza has established itself as a symbol of sport and active tourism, positively impacting the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and enhancing Lanzarote’s international profile.

The competition is supported by the Yaiza Town Council, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the Lanzarote Export Promotion Company (SPEL), and Bestial Events, along with the assistance of volunteers and municipal staff who ensure the event’s smooth operation and safety.
