The Cabildo Highlights FIFEDE’s Commitment After Achieving Top Score in the Canary Islands Transparency Index for the Second Consecutive Year

The Councillor for Employment and Education, Efraín Medina, emphasised that “this result reflects the daily effort of the Foundation to ensure that citizens have clear, truthful, and up-to-date access to public information”

The Canarian Island Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (FIFEDE), under the Cabildo of Tenerife, has achieved the highest score (10 points) in the Canary Islands Transparency Index (ITCanarias) for the second consecutive year. This official tool measures the level of compliance with obligations and best practices regarding transparency among public entities.

The final report, issued on 19 August by the Canary Islands Transparency Commissioner, confirms that FIFEDE not only meets the mandatory requirements for active publicity but also excels in voluntary transparency, receiving excellent ratings across all evaluated indicators.

The Island Councillor for Employment and Education, Efraín Medina, highlighted that “this result reflects the daily effort of the Foundation to ensure that citizens have clear, truthful, and up-to-date access to public information. Transparency is a fundamental principle for strengthening trust in institutions.”

Meanwhile, the manager of FIFEDE, Elena de la Guardia, added that “achieving the highest score once again encourages us to continue working rigorously, improving processes and maintaining a firm commitment to transparency.”

The Canary Islands Transparency Index, the methodology of which is available on its website, evaluates both the compliance with legal obligations for publicity and the additional information that entities make available to the public, thereby rewarding best practices in public management.

With this recognition, FIFEDE solidifies its position as one of the most transparent entities in the Canary Islands and reaffirms the Cabildo of Tenerife’s commitment to institutional openness and continuous improvement in public management.
