Both events are promoted by the Neighbourhood Association of the Historic Centre, in collaboration with the City Council’s Festival Department.

Photography Events in San Cristóbal de La Laguna

The city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna is once again the host for two events related to photography, aimed at showcasing the origins and values of this area, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Throughout September, the XVIII Exhibition of Historical Photographs ‘Zenón the Photographer’ and the XVI Photography Marathon ‘Antonio García Rueda’ were inaugurated on Saturday, 6th September.

Historical Photography Exhibition

The first event seeks to share with the community a collection of memories and moments over 30 years old, covering various themes and providing a journey into the past of many iconic streets in the historic centre. It highlights significant festivals and events that have shaped and continue to influence the rhythm of the city.

The XVIII Exhibition of Historical Photographs ‘Zenón the Photographer’ will be open for viewing until 14th September, in front of the old Nava La Salle College, located on La Carrera Street.

Photography Marathon

The marathon is also a well-established event in the municipality, aiming to engage individuals of various camera skills around a common theme that will be revealed at registration.

Prizes of €200, €100, and €50 will be awarded to the top three participants. The submitted entries will be displayed to the public at the same venue as the historical photograph exhibition on 13th September.
