The beach of El Socorro will once again host the largest outdoor wine fair in the Canary Islands this Saturday, with a new edition of the Gran Fiesta de Vinos de Tenerife. This event will showcase over 90 varieties of wines from the island’s designated origin labels, alongside wines from the DO El Hierro as a guest, as well as eight dining establishments, products from the Gastronomic Seal of Los Realejos, music from DJ Vamos and La Liamos, and performances by the groups Princesa and Agua del Chorro, all with free bus transport available.
The Mayor of Los Realejos, Adolfo González, introduced the event yesterday at the beach, alongside the Tourism Councillor, José David Cabrera, and Valentín González, the insular councillor for the Primary Sector, from the Cabildo de Tenerife. This initiative is co-financed by Turismo de Tenerife and is led by the municipality’s Tourism Department.
The wine fair will feature selections from the wine councils of the Valle de La Orotava, Valle de Güímar, Abona, Tacoronte-Acentejo, and Islas Canarias, along with six wineries from the Denomination of Origin El Hierro. Prices will range from €2 to €3.50 per drink.
A total of eight local restaurants (Mima’s, Amor al Primer Mordisco, Las Chozas, La Manobuena Catering, Kiosco Terraza El Encuentro, Kiosco Plaza Viera y Clavij’, La Trottola Foodtruck, Cafetería Casino, and El Saucito Street) will come together to offer the best of their cuisine, with dishes priced between €1.50 and €5 to complement the extensive wine offerings.
Music will commence at 18:00 with DJ sessions from Vamos and La Liamos (Mingo Show and Danny Méndez), who will also perform from 00:00 to 02:00. At 20:00, the group Princesa will take the stage with a tribute to Joaquín Sabina, followed by the local group Agua del Chorro at 22:00.
Free Public Transport
In keeping with the initiative’s sustainability focus, access to the beach by private vehicles will again be restricted. The municipality will provide free bus transport from the town centre starting at 17:30, with departure points located near the former Municipal Market and San Agustín Park.
Shuttle services to minibuses will be organised in the vicinity of the Hacienda de las Cuatro Ventanas, along the road to El Socorro. The Los Realejos City Council also reminds residents of the option to share taxis as another energy-saving transport method, allowing passengers to share costs.
