SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Presidents of the Canary Islands and Euskadi, Fernando Clavijo and Imanol Pradales, respectively, have formalised an alliance on Thursday in defence of “useful politics and the common good” against the “noise” and “polarisation” of the national landscape.

Both leaders signed a collaboration protocol aimed at developing joint initiatives in the field of R&D&I and reiterated their demand for the central government to implement a “comprehensive plan” for managing immigration.

“We will continue to work responsibly and proactively until the State meets its obligations,” Pradales stated at a joint press conference, emphasising that immigration is a “challenge of enormous magnitude” and institutions cannot “turn a blind eye.”
