COPE Hosts Successful Water Management Forum in Fuerteventura
The COPE network recently held a highly successful forum in Fuerteventura focused on water management, analysing the supply models of the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote—two territories that share both challenges and unique characteristics in this area.
Key Participants
The event took place at the El Mirador Hotel in Puerto del Rosario, featuring contributions from Manuel Miranda, the Councillor for Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion and Water of the Government of the Canary Islands; Lola García, President of the Fuerteventura Cabildo; and Domingo Cejas, Councillor for Waste, Water and Wind Energy of the Lanzarote Cabildo.
Crucial Topics Discussed
Moderated by COPE Fuerteventura journalist Marta Patallo, the forum addressed vital issues such as the declaration of a water emergency in both islands, measures implemented to ensure supply, and ongoing projects aimed at enhancing the sustainability of this resource.
Engagement and Interaction
The session saw robust attendance, with the audience not only listening to the speakers but also engaging directly by posing questions and expressing concerns to the authorities in attendance. This interaction enriched the discussion and promoted an open, constructive dialogue.
Special Live Programme
To conclude the day, COPE’s island programming was broadcast live from the hotel, featuring a special edition of Herrera en COPE Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, hosted by Jaime Puig at the usual time.
