A man has died this Saturday following a cardiac arrest while participating in a mountain race in northern Tenerife, as reported to EFE by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 112 of the Canary Islands Government.

Details of the Race

The incident occurred during the Carrera del Risco, a mountain event organised by the Town Hall of Buenavista del Norte, which involves a timed ascent of 3.7 km with a positive elevation gain of +700 m up to Teno Alto.

Emergency Response

The helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) was deployed to rescue the individual.
