The Lieutenant General in charge of the Canary Command, Julio Salom Herrera, presided over the ceremony this Sunday that initiated the events in honour of the Cristo de La Laguna. He was joined by civil and military authorities, including the President of the Canary Islands Government, Fernando Clavijo, and the Mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez.

As per tradition, they welcomed the representative of King Felipe VI. The military event began with honours rendered by the Forces, which included the Musical Unit of the Canary Command, the War Band No. 2 of the “Canarias” XVI Brigade, and the Honour Unit of the No. 93 Field Artillery Regiment.

Once the religious ceremony concluded, the image of the Most Holy Christ of La Laguna was paraded through the streets of the city, accompanied by the Squad of Drummers of the No. 93 Artillery Regiment.
