AEMET Issues Yellow Warning for High Temperatures in Fuerteventura
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a yellow warning for high temperatures and calima dust on the island of Fuerteventura starting this Tuesday. The warning anticipates temperatures exceeding 34 degrees Celsius in central and southern areas of Fuerteventura.
Additionally, it will be accompanied by airborne dust leading to visibility of up to 3000 metres. This will primarily affect southern-facing midlands and their peaks, but it is likely to extend progressively to lower areas and coastal regions, where concentrations may exceed 200 micrograms per cubic metre.
Residents are advised to exercise extreme caution, particularly during peak hours of the day, with particular attention given to infants, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions.
