This coming Saturday, 27th September, from 18:00, the Juan Ismael Art Centre in Puerto del Rosario will host the Traslación Festival for the first time. This contemporary dance event offers free entry until capacity is reached.

Recognised as one of the most significant events in this field in the Canary Islands, Traslación is expanding its reach with this new venue, adding Fuerteventura to its network of cultural spaces. For this edition, a programme has been crafted to showcase creators from various islands, blending established and emerging talents: Deloflamenco, Celeste Ayus, Abián Hernández, the Entre Siluetas Dance School, and the Fragmentos Collective.

Artistic Direction and Objectives

The artistic direction is led by Acerina H. Toledo, who emphasises the goal of decentralising cultural offerings and fostering connections between artists, audiences, and the landscape. The initiative prioritises performances inspired by nature, island identity, and the relationship with terrain.

History and Philosophy

Traslación originated in 2018 with the aim of transforming heritage, urban, and natural environments into open stages for creation. Over its editions, it has brought dance to unconventional spaces, encouraging a close and participative experience with the audience. The arrival in Fuerteventura continues this philosophy, providing a platform for local and regional artistic production.

Support and Collaboration

The project is powered by gestionART-e, supported by Promotur Turismo de Canarias, and in collaboration with the Culture Department of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura.
