Both institutions announce a new edition of the ‘We Are & Wir Sind Fuerteventura’ courses

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura and ecca.edu are reintroducing English and German courses for tourism assistance. Today, the Minister of Economic Promotion and Employment Development, Nuria Cabrera, and the island delegate of ecca.edu, Carmen Nieves Hernández, signed the agreement that allows for the continuation of the training project with a new edition.

‘We Are Fuerteventura’ and ‘Wir Sind Fuerteventura’ aim to enhance the language skills of the population and increase employment opportunities, particularly in the services sector: transport, commerce, security, etc. This year, the training is expanded to include an English course focused on the healthcare context.

These courses are consistently well-received each year, thanks to the training offered at various levels, which “improves employability through language skills development,” noted Cabrera.

In her remarks, the island delegate of ecca.edu expressed gratitude to the Cabildo “for this close collaboration, which enables us to provide language courses in four locations across the Island: Corralejo, Gran Tarajal, Puerto del Rosario, and Morro Jable.”

The initiative has a budget of €31,000, funded by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), which will cover the entire project’s development.

The courses will employ a methodology that integrates teaching materials, audiovisual resources, and tutorial support, with the aim of achieving 260 enrolments.
