The 36th Lanzarote Craft Fair concluded its edition with historic figures. Over 80,000 visitors attended the fairgrounds in Mancha Blanca from 10th to 15th September, coinciding with the celebrations in honour of the Virgin of Los Dolores. This attendance marks an absolute record and establishes the fair as one of the most significant events in the sector within the Archipelago.
The event brought together more than a hundred artisans, showcasing traditional crafts and innovative proposals in a gathering that combined exhibitions, sales, and live demonstrations. This year, the American city of San Antonio, Texas, participated as an international guest, enhancing the global character of the fair.
The Lanzarote Council, led by Oswaldo Betancort, praised the successful development of the event and expressed gratitude for both the public’s response and the engagement of the participating artisans.
Lanzarote Craft Awards 2025
One of the most notable moments of this edition was the presentation of the Lanzarote Craft Awards, which recognise the efforts of those who keep the tradition alive. The awards were given to Julián Rodríguez Rodríguez (Lifetime Achievement), Santiago Ramírez Curbelo (Young Talent and Generational Change), and Paco Dorta (Best Stand Decoration).
During the awards ceremony, the importance of the craft sector as a cultural and economic driver for the island was highlighted. The Councillor for Crafts, Aroa Revelo, thanked the participants for their commitment and the overwhelming response from the public.
The Councillor for Culture, Jesús Machín Tavío, reminded attendees that the fair transcends commerce, becoming a grand cultural stage that includes music, gastronomy, sports, and heritage, reflecting the island’s identity in all its expressions.
The organisation received support from the Centres for Art, Culture, and Tourism, along with collaboration from the Tinajo Town Hall, which allowed for expanded spaces and activities.
The 36th edition leaves behind a record in attendance and a programme that solidifies the Lanzarote Craft Fair as an essential event for both residents and visitors, where tradition and innovation come together every September in Mancha Blanca.
