The Tiñosa athlete Martha Padrón Olsson has been called up again by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation to join the Women’s Promising National Team (Generation 2010–2011). This will prepare her for a training camp and a double friendly match against the national team of Portugal, taking place from 6 to 12 October in Íscar, Valladolid.

Under the guidance of coach Dolo Martín, the team will gather at the Youth and Sports Residence in Íscar from Monday, 6 October, where they will hold training sessions. The team will play three matches, starting with a game against the youth team of Castilla and León, followed by two friendly matches against the Portugal team. These matches will be hosted at the Municipal Pavilion of Íscar.

Local Pride

Martha remains the only Canarian player selected for this call-up to the Women’s Promising National Team from CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen.

The president of CB Puerto del Carmen, Félix Montelongo, congratulated Martha, stating, “We are proud of our youth player, Martha Padrón Olsson, for her latest selection to the national team. Her development and growth as a player continue to showcase the quality of Tiñosa talent. We cannot emphasise enough how proud we are to see Tiñosa blood represented in the Spanish national team.
