Arson Arrest Made in Adeje
Officers from the National Police have arrested a 27-year-old man with previous convictions, as the suspected perpetrator of an intentional arson incident that affected six vehicles in the municipality of Adeje, located on the island of Tenerife.
The incident occurred in the early hours of 3 September 2025, when two fires broke out within minutes of each other on streets very close to one another in the southern town.
The flames spread, engulfing a total of six parked cars, three of which were completely burned to ash.
This situation —as confirmed by the officers— posed a serious risk to the life and safety of individuals, as well as a threat of spread to other vehicles, street furniture, buildings, and nearby vegetation.
Thanks to the swift intervention of the Fire Brigade, the National Police, and the Local Police, the flames were quickly extinguished, successfully preventing any injuries and containing the spread of the fire.
Investigation and Arrest
A subsequent investigation conducted by specialists from the National Police determined that the fire had been intentionally set using an accelerant. This line of inquiry led to the swift identification and arrest of the suspected perpetrator, who has since been presented to the relevant judicial authority.
