The festival Arrecife en Vivo returns this Friday with its unique formula of itinerant concerts, committed to a significant social cause: advocating for the rights of the LGTBI+ community.
The opening day on 19th September will feature artists such as Rocío Saiz, Zahara, and Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, alongside local talents like Jela, La Gore, Laiv, Aquiles Orquídea, Los Buches, and Villa Pipol.
A three-kilometre route will connect the four stages set up in the Arrecife marina. Rock, pop, electronic, funk, and urban folklore will provide the soundtrack to a festival that, according to its co-director Semi Gil, “shows there is life beyond the mainstream.”
Inaugural Itinerary
• 18:00 – Rocío Saiz at the Islote de Fermina.
• Parade by Los Buches to the Parque Islas Canarias (19:30, concert by Jela).
• Villa Pipol will guide the audience to Marina Lanzarote, where Triángulo de Amor Bizarro will perform at 21:00.
• The Muelle de Cruceros will host shows by Zahara, La Gore, and a set by Laiv x Aquiles Orquídea from 22:30 (exclusive access for over 18s).
Pre-event Meeting
On Thursday, 18th, a forum titled “For a Diverse and Dissident Culture” will take place at the Islote de Fermina, with free entry. The event will bring together Rocío Saiz and the groups Lánzate, Lanza Entiende, Chrysallis Canarias, and Cogal to reflect on cultural activism, the ongoing violence against diversity, and the representation of the community in the artistic sector.
The organisers encourage the public to join the parade on Friday wearing colourful shirts, LGTBI+ flags, or banners in support of coexistence. “On Thursday we propose a healthy debate, and on Friday we want to celebrate who we are: a coastal, welcoming society,” state Hsmith Solutions, the event’s production company.
The programming is free of charge thanks to the support of the Arrecife City Council, Cabildo de Lanzarote, and the Government of the Canary Islands, along with various collaborating entities. The official media partners are Radio 3 and Cadena Ser Lanzarote.
