On a sweltering day, when the sea has once again turned into a flat expanse, a new wave of migrants has begun arriving on the shores of the Canary Islands. Preliminary reports indicate that the Lanzarote Emergency Coordination Centre has confirmed that Salvamento Marítimo has rescued a group of 57 migrants attempting to reach the archipelago illegally.

Initially, their arrival at Puerto Naos in Arrecife was expected just after five in the afternoon. Personnel from the Red Cross were scheduled to assist them, although their condition and place of origin have not yet been confirmed.
