A new influx of migrants was recorded in the early hours of Sunday morning in waters near Lanzarote. According to the Consorcio de Seguridad y Emergencias, a vessel carrying 50 people – 49 men and one woman – was intercepted and evacuated by Salvamento Marítimo to the Naos dock in Arrecife.
This operation follows a recent landing that occurred last Friday, when 57 migrants were rescued in the same area and also taken to the capital’s port. That vessel had set off from the Moroccan town of Tan Tan the day before, carrying 53 men and 4 women, including 6 minors.

In total, seven occupants required medical assistance, although none needed to be transferred to hospital.
