The Canary Islands will see a decrease in maximum temperatures this Monday, although some areas of the archipelago may still reach up to 30 degrees, according to forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The calima, which has affected the islands in recent days, is expected to disperse, giving way to overcast skies or intervals of cloud, particularly in the northern regions. Meanwhile, the southern areas will largely enjoy clear skies.

Temperatures Approaching 30 Degrees

In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, maximum temperatures are forecast to reach 28 degrees, with minimums of 23. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the anticipated maximum is 26 degrees and the minimum is 22. Some areas of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria could reach 30 degrees.

Winds will be blowing from the northeast at a moderate pace, with the possibility of strong gusts, especially on the southeast and northwest slopes. At sea, northeast winds are expected to range from force 3 to 4, with gusts increasing to forces 5 or 6 in certain regions. The sea conditions will vary from slight to moderate, escalating to rough conditions by the end of the day, along with swells from the north measuring 1 to 2 metres.
