Coalición Canaria Criticises PSOE for Unfounded Health Alarm Over Seed Distribution Error

“The current socialist leadership has caused unnecessary alarm among the population by claiming that the island is in a state of extreme seriousness regarding public health, due to an administrative error that has been rectified”

Coalición Canaria Lanzarote has warned citizens about the “extreme seriousness” of the actions taken by the Socialist Party concerning the Cabildo’s management of the distribution of seeds from the Agricultural Experimental Farm.

Secretary General of the Lanzarote nationalist party, Pedro San Ginés, stated that “this is not an isolated incident, but rather a further demonstration of an organisation that appears to have no ethical or moral boundaries in its attempt to politically undermine others.”

According to CC, “The PSOE has once again been the cause of a highly serious episode, generating unnecessary alarm among the people by falsely accusing the Cabildo of Lanzarote of endangering public health due to a simple administrative mistake in seed distribution at the Agricultural Experimental Farm. This error was promptly detected and rectified by the responsible technicians, ensuring the security of both citizens and farmers at all times. However, the current socialist leadership, as always using alarm as a banner, claimed that the island is facing a state of extreme seriousness regarding public health.”

Pedro San Ginés has been unequivocal: “This is not the first time the Socialist Party has shown disregard for the honour, honesty, and integrity of public workers in order to construct a partisan narrative. What the PSOE has done is very serious; they have crossed all red lines, and we cannot allow politics in Lanzarote to stoop to this level of unscrupulousness.”

San Ginés insists that politics should be about finding solutions, not instilling fear. “This has to stop. What awaits us from now until 2027, if we continue as we are, is a scenario where every human error will be used as a political weapon, trampling over officials and technicians to create headlines, regardless of the harm caused to the public or to the professionals who work diligently. We will not tolerate this. I urge the responsible faction of the PSOE to put an end to this nonsense,” emphasises the CC leader.

Coalición Canaria Lanzarote reiterates that what has happened “is merely another example of the practices that this PSOE has accustomed citizens to and warns that such behaviour undermines trust in the institutions and in those who work there with diligence and professionalism.”

“Politics should be about responsibility, respect, and working for the common good. We cannot exhaust ourselves endlessly on nonsense like this,” concludes San Ginés.
