A Special Bus Service Established for the 2025 Festivities in Honour of Our Lady of La Peña
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of Transport and the public service contractor, has set up a special bus schedule for the celebrations of the Festivities in Honour of Our Lady of La Peña on 19th and 20th September.
During these services, the activation or recharging of transport cards will not be permitted to avoid delays in transport. Therefore, it is essential to carry a transport card that is properly loaded and activated.
This year, the special services have been adjusted to accommodate pilgrims and those wishing to attend liturgical events, as detailed below:
Friday, 19th September:
Puerto del Rosario – Antigua: 20:30, 21:30, 22:30, and 23:30. Ticket sales will be available at the Puerto del Rosario Bus Station from 19:00 to 00:00. Price: €3. A continuous service will run from 01:00 to 08:00 the following day.
Antigua – Puerto del Rosario: 21:00, 22:00, and 23:00. Ticket sales will be available at the booth near the Local Police in Antigua. Price: €3. A continuous service will run from 01:00 to 08:00 the following day.
Antigua – Vega de Río Palmas: 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00, 15:30, 16:30, and 17:30. Tickets can be purchased on the bus and at the Local Police booth in Antigua. Price: €3. A continuous service will run from 18:00 to 08:00 the following day.
Vega de Río Palmas – Antigua: 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00, 15:30, 16:30, and 17:30. Tickets can be purchased on the bus and at the stop booth in Vega. Price: €3. A continuous service will run from 18:00 to 08:00 the following day.
Saturday, 20th September:
Antigua – Puerto del Rosario: 01:00, 02:00, 03:00, 04:00, 05:00, 06:00, 07:00, and 08:00. Tickets can be purchased on the bus. Price: €3.
Antigua – Vega de Río Palmas: 08:30, 10:30, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 17:00, and 19:00. Tickets available on the bus. Price: €3.
Vega de Río Palmas – Antigua: 09:30, 11:30, 13:00, 14:00, 16:00, 16:30, 18:00, and 20:00. Tickets available on the bus. Price: €3.
During these special services, the activation or recharging of cards will not be allowed due to the expected high number of passengers attending the Festivities of Our Lady of La Peña. It is therefore essential to have a fully loaded and activated transport card for use on these special services.
Passengers are permitted to use their cards on the special services, but consumption of food and drinks on the bus is not allowed, nor is the use of luggage compartments.

Line 01:
Puerto del Rosario – Morro Jable: 05:00, 05:45, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 14:45, 15:00, 15:30, 16:00, 17:00, 18:30, 19:00, 20:00, and 21:00. Estimated travel time to Antigua is approximately 30 minutes.
Morro Jable – Puerto del Rosario: 07:30, 08:00, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:00, 13:15, 14:00, 15:00, 15:30, 16:30, 17:00, 17:30, 18:00, 19:00, 21:45, 22:30, 23:00, and 23:45. Estimated travel time to Antigua is approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes.
Line 16:
Puerto del Rosario – Gran Tarajal: 05:15, 09:30, 11:45, 16:00, and 17:30. Estimated travel time to Antigua is approximately 45 minutes.
Gran Tarajal – Puerto del Rosario: 08:30, 10:30, 13:00, and 17:30. Estimated travel time to Antigua is approximately 20 minutes.
Line 02:
Puerto del Rosario – Vega de Río Palmas: 11:00, 14:30, and 18:30. Only the 11:00 service stops in Antigua. Estimated travel time to Antigua is approximately 45 minutes.
Vega de Río Palmas – Puerto del Rosario: 08:30, 12:30, and 16:30.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura invites all attendees of the La Peña Festivities to utilise public transport as an alternative to driving for their journeys, and to use their transport cards for special services during these celebrations in honour of the patron saint of Majorero.
