The heat intensifies in the north of the island
On a day expected to be exceptionally hot, temperatures in the northern part of the island have already reached 32 degrees Celsius in the Parque Holandés area.
Overall, temperatures are nearing 30 degrees across most of the island, with light easterly winds and calm seas to the east. The northern and western coasts are also experiencing minimal waves, which will not exceed one metre in height.
Caution is advised as the day progresses, with the heat expected to dominate Fuerteventura, accompanied by high-altitude dust which may worsen conditions.
Special care should be taken with elderly individuals, nursing mothers, and pilgrims travelling from all over the island to the sanctuary of the Virgen de La Peña in the Vega de Rio Palmas.
