Cultural Activities
The Sociocultural Association Más Ruines que Caín will conduct an animated tour around the Fair and the Church of San Miguel, titled “Usos y costumbres de la sementera en Fuerteventura”, where they will transport attendees to a reality closely linked to our culture.
Más Ruines que Caín is a cultural reference point in Fuerteventura, having dedicated their efforts to preserve significant events like the depiction of the Good and Evil play in Tuineje. This group holds the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands for the year 2025 and is a source of pride for island culture.
Additionally, the well-known dance group from Tuineje, Sweet Girls, will participate in the event’s entertainment. This talented team of young performers has been a crucial part of celebrations in Tuineje for years, having had the honour of being the heralds for the San Miguel festivities in 2024.
A Packed Programme of Activities
In addition to the high-calibre cultural references from these two groups, the Fair will feature various children’s workshops related to island culture, multiple showcooking demonstrations showcasing the quality of local produce, as well as various workshops and musical performances.
Handicrafts will receive prominent attention during the Fair, exemplifying traditional culture, with key artisans from the sector exhibiting across different areas of the event over the two days of Agrofuer.
The event will also be enriched by two traditional handicraft workshops led by local artisans.
This Friday and Saturday, the surroundings of the Church of San Miguel will reflect the island’s recent and latent identity, all while looking towards the hopeful future that the rural world has to offer the residents and visitors of Fuerteventura.
