The Teatro Atlántida will host a unique event featuring Spanish lyricism on 30 August: “A Night of Zarzuela and Much More”. This recital will be led by three prominent artists: Lanzarote tenor Pancho Corujo, Madrid soprano Ruth Terán, and Gran Canaria pianist Juan Francisco Parra. For 90 minutes, the audience will enjoy a journey through the most renowned zarzuela melodies, alongside excerpts from Italian opera and a few surprises reserved for the occasion.

Pancho Corujo, the Lyric Voice of Lanzarote

Francisco “Pancho” Corujo has established himself as one of the leading Spanish tenors of the 21st century. With over 15 years of international experience, he has performed under the direction of renowned maestros such as Plácido Domingo, Josep Pons, and Giancarlo Del Monaco. His repertoire spans both opera and zarzuela, as well as symphonic compositions such as Mozart’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. He has garnered awards in prestigious competitions such as the Francisco Viñas and the Iris Adami Corradetti, proudly representing Lanzarote on stages worldwide.

Ruth Terán, an Internationally Acclaimed Soprano

Madrid soprano Ruth Terán is renowned for her expressiveness and versatility. She has performed on major stages such as the Teatro Español in Madrid, the Auditorium of Zaragoza, the National Auditorium in Madrid, and the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao.
She has been part of the celebrated Antología de la Zarzuela in international tours to Qatar and Mexico alongside Plácido Domingo, establishing herself as one of the most promising Spanish voices in the lyrical field.

Juan Francisco Parra, a Pianist of Excellence

Gran Canaria pianist Juan Francisco Parra possesses a solid musical education, having completed his studies at the Conservatory of Music and Theatre in Bern (Switzerland) under the guidance of maestro Michael Studer.
He has frequently collaborated with the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra and participated in the international tour of 2000 throughout Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, performing in some of the most prestigious auditoriums in Europe.
