The Sports Department of Antigua believes that the Los Alares Motocross Circuit, regarded as one of the best in the Canary Islands and serving the community for 30 years, should be officially recognised, as it meets all necessary reports and criteria required for a circuit of this nature.

To this end, councillor Samuel Torres Mesa has requested an urgent meeting with the Cabildo of Fuerteventura to advance its official registration, noting that preliminary environmental reports are favourable and all necessary requirements are met.

In the proposed meeting, we will ask the Cabildo of Fuerteventura to acknowledge one of the premier Motorcycling Circuits in the Canary Islands, officially regulating it as such. This would promote motocross on the island, allowing Los Alares to host island and regional competitions, facilitate training sessions, and even consider establishing a Motocross School managed by the clubs themselves, stated Mayor Matías Peña García.

In conclusion, the mayor emphasised the importance of providing a response and a meeting place for dozens of motocross athletes, as well as hundreds of enthusiasts of motorcycling competitions.
