La Recova Municipal was filled with life and smiles again on Thursday with the celebration of the III Gathering of the Elderly. Organised by the Elderly Department of the Arrecife City Council, under the direction of Rosmen Quevedo, it is part of the programme for the San Ginés Festival 2025.
An Afternoon of Music and Good Cheer
The gathering attracted dozens of seniors from the capital who enjoyed a festive afternoon with live music and shared refreshments in an atmosphere brimming with joy and companionship.
The evening featured performances by the Los Jarvac and Guarapo Orchestras, which encouraged attendees to dance and celebrate as the stars of the patronal festivities.
Institutional Presence and Support for the Elderly
The event was graced by the presence of Arrecife Mayor Yonathan de León, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Festivities Echedey Eugenio, and Oswaldo Betancort, President of the Lanzarote Cabildo, alongside the Councillor for the Elderly.
The authorities expressed gratitude for the participation of the elderly and highlighted the significant role they play in the social and festive life of the municipality.
“A Tradition that Celebrates the Vitality of the Elderly”
The Councillor for the Elderly, Rosmen Quevedo, emphasised that the gathering “is already a tradition that celebrates the vitality and fundamental role of our elderly in Arrecife society”.
He also noted that the activity is organised in coordination with the Festivals Department “to ensure that our elderly experience the San Ginés Festivities as what they truly are: a meeting point, enjoyment, and recognition for them”.
A Well-Established Event in San Ginés
With this third edition, the Gathering of the Elderly at La Recova has become one of the most cherished events in the San Ginés festival programme, creating a dedicated space for those who have contributed so much to the city of Arrecife.
